The low-mount T25 manifold is the original Kraken manifold in the form that places the turbo lower in the engine bay, with more room around the brake lines. It carries a T25 four-bolt turbine flange for Garrett and EFR turbos and fits the Mazda MX-5 NA and NB.

Lower Turbo, More Clearance
The low mount places the turbo lower in the bay, with more room around the brake lines; access during fitting is more involved than on the top mount. The casting is NiResist D5S Type 2 with 38mm runners, and the manifold remains compatible with air conditioning and power steering. A top-mount version is available as its own product for a higher turbo position with easier access.

One Requirement To Plan For
The low mount requires the water pump mixing manifold to be modified, or the Kraken billet mixing manifold fitted in its place. The billet manifold is supplied as a kit with separate air conditioning and power steering hoses, AN10 braided line, and lines for the 1.6 and 1.8 engines.
Proven On Over 4,000 Cars
More than 4,000 cars run a Kraken T25 manifold. Each one is cast in-house from NiResist D5S Type 2, a high-nickel iron used for turbine housings for its resistance to exhaust heat and cracking. Every manifold ships with a gasket, four Inconel studs and four high-temperature locking nuts.
Specifications
Low Mount Questions
Why choose the low mount?+
The low mount places the turbo lower in the engine bay, with more clearance around the brake lines. Access during fitting and servicing is more involved than on the top mount.
Which MX-5 engines does it fit?+
The 1.6 B6 and 1.8 BP engines in the NA and NB (1989 to 2005).
Which turbos does it suit?+
Garrett and EFR turbos with a T25 four-bolt turbine flange. For Garrett GT 5-bolt turbos, a V-band adapter is recommended.
Is anything else needed for the low mount?+
Yes. The low mount needs the water pump mixing manifold modified, or the Kraken billet mixing manifold fitted in its place. The billet manifold is supplied as a kit with separate air conditioning and power steering hoses, AN10 braided line, and lines for the 1.6 and 1.8 engines.
What is included?+
A gasket, four Inconel studs and four high-temperature locking nuts.
What is the manifold made from?+
NiResist D5S Type 2, a high-nickel cast iron used for turbine housings, providing resistance to exhaust heat and cracking.
Is it compatible with air conditioning and power steering?+
