The reverse-rotation manifold is cast in-house from NiResist D5S Type 2 as a top-mount design for the NA and NB. It is built for reverse-rotation turbochargers, spinning the compressor counter-clockwise and turning the outlet toward the front of the bay. In the compact Miata engine bay, that shortens the charge-pipe run and removes bends, lowering pressure loss. The wastegate mounts externally, on a V-band 38mm or 44mm flange.

Outlet To The Front
The manifold is built for reverse-rotation turbochargers, spinning the compressor counter-clockwise and turning the outlet toward the front of the engine bay rather than the firewall. In the compact Miata bay, that shortens the charge-pipe run and removes bends.

Boost Control Off The Housing
The wastegate mounts externally, on a V-band flange sized for a 38mm or 44mm gate, keeping boost control off the turbine housing. That reduces the exhaust reversion of an internal-wastegate setup, holds turbine efficiency at higher boost, and gives a separate dump for exhaust-pulse management.
Cast In NiResist D5S
The manifold is cast in-house from NiResist D5S Type 2, a high-nickel iron used for turbine housings, providing resistance to exhaust heat and cracking. The top-mount casting clears the bonnet and the air-conditioning compressor, and mounts the turbo on a V-band flange.

Manifold Questions
What is reverse rotation?+
The turbo's compressor spins counter-clockwise, turning the outlet toward the front of the bay rather than the firewall. In the compact Miata engine bay, that shortens the charge-pipe run and removes bends.
Which turbos fit this manifold?+
Reverse-rotation external-wastegate turbos with a V-band inlet, in the G25 frame, such as the PSR G25-550 and G25-660 or the Garrett G25-585.
Internal or external wastegate?+
External, on a V-band flange sized for a 38mm or 44mm gate, keeping boost control off the turbine housing.
Does it clear the bonnet and air conditioning?+
Yes. The top-mount casting clears the bonnet and the air-conditioning compressor.
Which engines does it fit?+
The 1.6 B6 and 1.8 BP engines in the Mazda Miata NA and NB (1989 to 2005). Choose 1.6 or 1.8 at order.
What is the manifold made from?+
NiResist D5S Type 2, a high-nickel cast iron used for turbine housings, providing resistance to exhaust heat and cracking.
